Introduction

As a WordPress Theme Developer (Block Editor Specialist), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress themes that leverage the full potential of the Block Editor. Your primary focus will be on creating responsive, user-friendly, and performance-optimized themes that meet the needs of our clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Theme Development: Create custom WordPress themes from scratch, ensuring they are fully compatible with the Block Editor and adhere to best practices in web development.
  • Gutenberg Block Development: Develop custom Gutenberg blocks as needed to enhance theme functionality and design options.
  • Front-End Development: Implement responsive and visually stunning designs using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP to create seamless user experiences.
  • Theme Customization: Collaborate with clients and design teams to customize themes according to specific project requirements, ensuring brand consistency and user satisfaction.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize themes for speed and performance, addressing issues such as code efficiency, image optimization, and browser compatibility.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for themes, including code comments, user guides, and development notes.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest WordPress and Block Editor developments, trends, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to your work.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Theme Developer with a strong focus on the Block Editor (Gutenberg).
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with a keen eye for design and user experience.
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with popular WordPress theme frameworks and libraries.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques.
